PCRC Flying Field:

The PCRC uses a private R/C flying field located just east of Winchester VA, off of Rt. 50, located at:

306 Sulphur Spring Road
Winchester, VA 22602

This flying site has been used by the club since 1991. The site has two close-cropped grass runways, with a fenced pit area and an open-air shelter.

Visitors are always welcome to come by the club's flying site to meet and talk to members and learn about our club.

The flying field. As shown in the below aerial picture, has two grass runways. The primary runway is approximately 500 ft. long by 50 feet wide, while the second runway is approximately 330 ft. long by 50 feet wide.

Directions to the PCRC Flying Field:

Take I-81 to the Rt. 50/17 Exit at Winchester, VA. Go East on Rt. 50 (Millwood Pike) to the third light, and turn left onto Sulphur Springs Road. Go approximately 0.4 miles looking for a small sign on the right stating "Plane Crazy R/C". Turn right at the sign onto the gravel access road, and proceed 0.3 mi to the flying site. PCRC Flying Field Rules and Safety Guidelines:

Safety in radio-control powered modeling is a serious issue. The penalties for mistakes are high; smashed models, and possibly personal injuries and property damage. However, the vast majority of accidents are avoidable through safe operating practices by all members and guests.

The PCRC Flying Field Rules and the PCRC Safety Guidelines (included below) have been carefully compiled to aid the awareness of new members, and remind other members, of the required safe operating practices that minimize the risk of damage to models, people and property. The rules and guidelines do not replace the formal AMA Safety Code (included below) which you should also understand and practice.

PCRC Club Meetings:

Monthly PCRC Club Meetings are held at 7.00 PM every third Monday of the month (except January, when we have our annual Club Banquet). In the summer time, meetings are held at the flying field. The rest of the year, meetings are held at the Holiday Inn Express, on Rt. 522 west of Winchester, near Rt. 37. The motel is located behind the Sheetz Gas Station on Fox Drive.
